Oscars 82nd Academy Awards Nominations for 2010

The list of nominees for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced earlier today, February 2, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California by Academy President Tom Sherak and actress Anne Hathaway. The Oscar awarding ceremony will be held live in the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, March 7, 2010 with hosts actor Alec Baldwin and comedian Steve Martin.
Vying for the Best Actress awards are Sandra Bullock for her role in “The Blind Side,” and joining her in this category are Helen Mirren in “The Last Station”, Carey Mulligan in “An Education”, Gabourey Sidibe in “Precious”, and Meryl Streep in “Julie & Julia”. Although I’m pretty pretty sure that Sandra Bullock will win this prestigious award based on her excellent role in Blind Side. There’s actually a stiff competition for the Best Picture award as ten great films are vying for the said award. Even the Pixar animated film ‘Up’ was nominated for the Best Picture award together with Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglorious Basterds, A Serious Man, Precious, and Up in the Air.
